About me

Sailing off Newquay

Hi, I’m Charlie and welcome to passportandboots.com. Born to well-travelled parents, I’ve had itchy feet since I was a child. I’ve been lucky enough to travel around the world twice and visit all seven continents. I’ve been in temperatures from -30°C to +40°C when I’ve nearly frozen to death or been baked alive! Top experiences must include swimming with whale sharks in Mexico and camping on the ice in Antarctica.

Travel is one of my greatest passions and whilst I’m no digital nomad if I’m not away on a trip I’ll be planning the next three. It may involve meeting new people, trying new foods, seeing new sites or having new experiences. These all have a place in my life and therefore on this website, which is written for those with similar interests. I often set myself a fairly tight budget but if I’m only going to visit somewhere once then I’m not averse to breaking the bank.

Much of the information is from my solo, independent travels but also from when I’ve travelled with others. It is however all based on personal experiences. If it’s here then I’ve been there, eaten it, seen it or tried it. I hope you enjoy what you find here.
